Vehicle Size Guide
Vehicle-size bands keep booking simple and help estimate working time fairly. Body style is a useful starting point, but cabin volume, length, height and unusual load areas can affect the final classification.
Quick answer
Small generally covers city cars and compact hatchbacks; Medium covers family hatchbacks and saloons; Large covers estates, crossovers and small vans; Extra Large covers large SUVs, 4x4s and vans. Auto Opulence confirms the band before the appointment when a model sits between categories.
Why vehicle size affects the price
A larger vehicle normally has more bodywork, glass, wheels, cabin surface area and carpet to clean. Height and width also affect access and working time. Size pricing gives customers a consistent starting point, but it does not replace a condition assessment where heavy contamination or an unusual layout materially changes the work required.
Small and Medium vehicles
Small is intended for city cars and compact hatchbacks with limited cabin and load space. Medium commonly includes family hatchbacks, saloons and similar vehicles. A compact crossover may move into Large because its height, wheel size and interior volume require more time than a conventional hatchback of a similar length.
Large and Extra Large vehicles
Large commonly covers estates, crossovers and small vans. Extra Large is intended for large SUVs, 4x4s and vans with substantially greater exterior and interior area. Seven-seat layouts, long-wheelbase bodies and extensive load compartments can also affect the band, particularly for interior work.
Condition remains a separate factor
Two vehicles of the same model can require very different working time. Embedded pet hair, sand, staining, mould, heavy road contamination or paint correction are not simply size issues. The service page explains the normal scope, while additional requirements are discussed before work begins so the final treatment remains clear.
What to do when you are unsure
Choose the closest body-style example when starting a booking and provide the make and model when contacting us. Auto Opulence will confirm the correct band before the appointment. This is particularly useful for coupé-style SUVs, long estates, converted vans and vehicles with non-standard seating or load areas.

Frequently asked
Good to know.
Is an SUV always Extra Large?
No. Smaller crossovers can fall into Large, while substantial SUVs and 4x4s are normally Extra Large. The exact model and body dimensions determine the most suitable band.
Why can an estate be Large when a saloon is Medium?
Estates normally have more exterior length and additional load-area glass, trim and carpet, which can increase working time for both exterior and interior services.
Does heavy dirt change the vehicle size?
The physical size remains the same, but the condition can require a deeper service or additional working time. This is discussed separately from the size band.
Are vans included in the size guide?
Small and larger vans can be accommodated for selected services, but unusual commercial interiors or extensive load areas need individual confirmation before booking.
Will you confirm the size before charging?
Yes. Auto Opulence confirms the appropriate vehicle band and any condition-related requirements before the service is finalised.
